Bartera is provided by Ura Bartera Inc. on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. You use the platform at your own risk.

1. No Warranty

We do not guarantee:

• The accuracy of listings
• The reliability of users
• The condition of traded items
• That trades will complete
• That shipments will arrive
• That the platform will be error-free during beta

2. Not a Shipping Carrier

Shipping is handled by third-party carriers (e.g., USPS, UPS). Bartera generates labels via Shippo but:

• Does not transport items
• Does not take possession of items
• Is not responsible for carrier delays, losses, or damage in transit
• Does not guarantee delivery timelines despite the 3-business-day ship-by commitment

The 3-business-day shipping deadline (excluding weekends and U.S. federal holidays) is a user-to-user commitment. Bartera monitors deadlines and may notify non-shippers, but cannot force shipment.

3. Phone Verification & Trading

Sending or accepting trade offers requires SMS phone verification. Bartera is not responsible for any inability to trade resulting from a failure to verify a valid phone number.

4. Limited Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Bartera is not liable for:

• Lost, damaged, or stolen items
• Failed or fraudulent trades
• Carrier mistakes
• User misconduct
• Platform downtime or bugs
• Loss of data

5. Third-Party Services

We use Stripe, Shippo, and other external services. We are not responsible for their outages or errors.

6. Shipping Fees

Bartera charges a shipping fee for each completed trade. The shipping fee is calculated based on the package weight, dimensions, and distance between origin and destination addresses. The shipping fee includes carrier costs. The total shipping fee will be displayed to you at checkout prior to payment. By completing payment you agree to pay the shipping fee as displayed.
